Novice Obedience
March 5th through April 9th

Instructor Theresa Richmond – Novice Obedience is the foundation used in many dog sports. With the AKC, minor or significant points can be deducted from a total of 200 points. Learn how to keep your dogs focused and motivated and the points in your pocket! All Novice exercises will be covered in each class. 6 weeks or Drop in welcome.

March 2nd through March 23rd
Monday’s from 1:30pm-2:30pm
This 4-week class is an AKC Rally team sport: We will be offering both Intermediate and Advanced courses. You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer your dog through a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. This is a fun and challenging class for both you and your dog. Prerequisites: Rally Obedience “Novice“. Drop in welcome for $30 if space is available.

Tricks
March 3rd through March 24th
Tuesday’s from 6:00pm – 7:00pm
This 4-week class is a favorite. Join us for some fun learning tricks with your dog. Tricks are a great way to work obedience but have fun all at the same time. This class is suited for all ages. During the classes you will have the opportunity to test as we go for an AKC and/or Do More with Your Dog tricks title if interested. Drop in welcome for $30 if space is available. BarKour Game Night
April 1st through April 29th (No class April 15th)
Wednesdays from 6:00pm-7:00pm
This 4-week class is FUN! This class will give you and your dog an opportunity to try different fun and engaging activities like Rodeo Dog, Hoops & Tunnels and Moving Dog Puzzles for example. Teamwork while having fun through a variety of games can’t get any better. Drop in welcome for $30 if space is available.

Foundation Obedience/CGC Prep
March 23rd through May 11th (No class April 13th or May 4th)
6:00pm to 7:00pm THIS CLASS IS FULL
Foundation Obedience/CGC Prep (6-week series) – This class is designed to help you train your dog to be part of your pack. You will learn basic handling skills to build a solid foundation using positive reinforcement. These skills will help you build a lasting relationship with your dog at home, toward a AKC CGC Title, Therapy Dog or wherever you might want to go next. This class is suitable for Puppies, Adolescent & Adult Dogs using The Volhard Motivational Method. This is a great follow-up to S.T.A.R. Puppy.

AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY
May 13th through June 24th
(No Class 6/17)

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy provides a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title.
The Benefits of Training Your Puppy
Training classes teach you how to best communicate with your puppy. Organized training classes also provide an opportunity for your dog to socialize with other dogs. In classes aimed at earning the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy distinction, you’ll be able to get information on all of your puppy-raising questions including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy training is a natural lead into the AKC® Canine Good Citizen® Program. Each student will have the opportunity to take the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test on the last class.
